James L.M. Bain (1860-1925) was a healer, poet and mystic from Liverpool, England. He used music to sing to patients during healing sessions and authored a book “Brotherhood of Healers” in 1906. Using the text from Psalm 23, he composed this hymn in 1915 as a New Year greeting to his friends. Janet was inspired to arrange his hymn as a harp solo, after hearing a White Throated Sparrow sing a partial phrase of the music outside her kitchen window on Earth Day, April 22, 2022.
