Danish composer, Ludvig Schytte (1848-1909) was a composer and pianist, who traveled to Germany to study with Franz Liszt. He composed a piano concerto, two operas and many piano works. This work comes from a set of character pieces for piano study, “10 Kleine Plaudereien”. Titled, “Lied des alten Harfners” or “Song of the Old Harpist”, it serves as a perfect harp etude for arpeggios, rolled chords and using double pedals. Perfect for recitals! Janet Witman has arranged it as a harp pedal solo.
