Pavane by Gabriel Faure (Pedal Solo)
$10.00
Pedal Harp Solo, 6 pages
French composer Gabriel Faure (1845-1924) composed this work as a piano solo in 1887, then arranged it for orchestra and chorus later that year for a light summer concert. The pavane originated as a 16th century court dance, and the composer’s interpretation was to play it not in the German Romantic style but with a light- hearted dance quality. The melodic line is haunting and elegant, perfect as a harp solo! Arranged by Janet Witman.
