A Patriotic Medley (Solo)
$6.50
Yankee Doodle / Chester / Churchill’s March
Harp Solo. 2 pages.
Janet has arranged three tunes popular during the American Revolution. Yankee Doodle was an English “dig” on the unkempt patriots, calling them “Macaronis”- meaning fops or wannabee rich Europeans. As the war progressed toward an American win, patriots sang the song to mock the English troops! Chester was the unofficial patriot anthem in the form of a hymn, written by William Billings. Churchill’s March is an English tune from the late 17th century. Janet arranged this medley for the nation’s 250th anniversary in July 2026.
There is also an ensemble version available.
Arrangements by Janet Witman.
