This piece is found in an eight book collection of lyrical piano compositions by Felix Mendelssohn, “Lieder ohne Worte” or “Song Without Words”. Mendelssohn composed this work in 1834 and titled it using expressive tempo descriptions, such as, “Adagio non troppo”. His publishers re-titled his work, “Consolation” in hopes of better sales! Janet has transcribed it for pedal harp, suitable for many settings. Arrangements by Janet Witman.
