BRANDYWINE HARPS ANNOUNCES THE RELEASE OF THEIR FIRST CD
CHRISTMAS CROSSINGS

Brandywine Harps announces the release of their first CD Christmas Crossings.

In Christmas Crossings, director and arranger Janet Jackson Witman brings together 14 celtic harps, hand bells, children’s choir, flute, pennywhistle and organ in her exquisitely crafted arrangements of holiday carols. Christmas Crossings was recorded live at Immanuel Church, Highlands, Wilmington, Delaware. CDs can be purchased online at www.brandywineharps.com, and are also available at the Delaware Art Museum Store.

National Scottish Harp Champion and member of Ensemble Galilei Sue Richards praised the CD saying:

"Absolutely the nicest harp Christmas CD I have ever heard!
Good job, guys! The arrangements and engineering are wonderful,
the playing is really great, and it always puts me in a good mood."

The Brandywine Celtic Harp Orchestra developed from the studio of Janet Jackson Witman, an outstanding teacher and performer on both the celtic and classical harps. Janet has been bringing the joy and art of harp playing into the Brandywine Valley of Chester County, PA since 1986. Inspired by the Celtic harp orchestras of Ireland and Scotland, called the Belfast Harp Orchestra and Na Clarsairean respectively, Janet returned from the Edinburgh Harp Festival 2000 in Scotland with a deeper understanding of celtic harp music.

The Brandywine Celtic Harp Orchestra boasts 15 harpers of all ages with advanced skill levels and has become an outstanding performing group. In addition to playing in retirement homes and church concert series, they have been featured in concerts at Longwood Gardens, Winterthur's Enchanted Gardens, the Mt. Gretna Tabernacle, The Downs Cultural Center and the American Harp Society Conference 2004 held in Philadelphia, PA.
